FrameShop Script v1.1.0 – Adding a Watermark

FrameShop is a script for Adobe Photoshop designed to give the photographer/artist a variety of mat and frame styles for displaying digital images on the Web. The previous version of the script was described in detail in an earlier post on this blog, FrameShop Script v1.0.0 for Photoshop CC and CS6. This new version (v1.1.0) adds a watermark as a signature option, is available in localized versions for Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and German language versions of Photoshop, and fixes bugs.

  • Watermark as a signature option
  • Localized script versions for Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch and German language versions of Photoshop
  • Fixed a batch mode bug that used the EXIF date and GPS coordinates from the first image for all the images in the batch
  • Fixed a bug that resulted in a vertical bar separator (|) in the EXIF text even when the associated EXIF tag was blank or undefined

FrameShop Script v1.0.0 for Photoshop CC and CS6

FrameShop is a script for Adobe Photoshop designed to give the photographer/artist a variety of mat and frame styles for displaying digital images on the Web. The previous version of the FrameShop script (v0.9.7) was described in detail in an earlier post on this blog. This new version (v1.0.0) runs on Photoshop CC and CS6, and has new features and improvements:

  • Batch mode
  • Smart Sharpen and Unsharp Mask sharpening methods
  • EXIF tag “Focal Length in 35mm Film”
  • Four date formats for “Date taken”
  • Default selection of IPTC title, caption and copyright notice fields
  • Simplified save options

The FrameShop script dialog box is organized so that each option can be selected and customized independently, using a tabbed dialog.

The dialog is displayed in the default Color Theme for Adobe Photoshop CC, chosen in Adobe Photoshop’s Preferences/Interface… menu. Here’s an example of what the script can do, showing the various FrameShop elements that are referenced in this guide.

For those who are familiar with Adobe Photoshop and using scripts, or for those who have used earlier versions of the FrameShop script, the following detailed guide to FrameShop options can be skimmed or skipped entirely. The script is easy to use and the settings/options are easy to “play with” without damaging any pixels. If you’re unfamiliar with using scripts in Adobe Photoshop, read the following guide and you’ll be on your way. The major changes from the previous version are highlighted in green.

FrameShop Script v0.9.5 for Photoshop CS5 & CS6

Update (May 7, 2016): A newer version of the FrameShop script is now available for Photoshop CC 2015 and CS6. I highly recommend using the newer version if you are running either CC 2015 or CS6.

FrameShop is a script for Adobe Photoshop designed to give the photographer/artist a variety of mat and frame styles for displaying digital images on the Web. The initial version of the FrameShop script (v0.9) was described in detail in an earlier post on this blog. This new version (v0.9.5) runs on Photoshop CS5 and CS6, and has several new features:

  • Colors are selected using the Adobe Color Picker rather than color presets
  • Text positions are set by default to EXIF left, Title center and Signature right, all on the mat under the image
  • GPS latitude, longitude and elevation have been added to the selectable EXIF text items
  • Result can be saved as JPEG, TIFF, PSD, PNG or GIF
  • Result can be saved with the same ICC profile as the original file or another profile
  • Script runs on a duplicate of the original image and leaves the original image open after running

I have not tested the script with the Adobe Creative Cloud version of Photoshop (yet).
Update (September 9, 2013): The FrameShop script (v0.9.5) has been successfully tested with Adobe Photoshop CC.

FrameShop – A Framing Script for Adobe® Photoshop®

Update (August 21, 2013): A newer version of the FrameShop script is now available for CS5 and CS6. I highly recommend using the newer version if you are running either CS5 or CS6.

FrameShop is a script for Adobe Photoshop designed to give the photographer a variety of mat and frame styles for displaying digital images on the Web. Unlike the PrintEXIF and GalleryFrame scripts that preceded FrameShop, this script is more versatile and lets the user choose sizes, fonts, text position, colors and styles, offering an (almost) endless number of combinations. Like PrintEXIF, it gives the user the option to display EXIF data in the mat or frame, and like GalleryFrame, it has an option to double the size of the bottom mat dimension (Gallery mat) for a gallery mat style.
